The short version

This site does not set tracking cookies, advertising cookies or any cookie that requires your consent. That is why you have not been shown a cookie banner — not because we forgot one, but because there is nothing to ask you about.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise your browser later. Cookies are useful for things like keeping you signed in. They are also the mechanism behind most advertising and cross-site tracking, which is why the law treats them carefully.

What we use instead

We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It records aggregate information — page, referrer, country, device type — and does not store a cookie, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you to other websites. We cannot identify an individual visitor from it, and neither can anybody else.

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, remarketing tags or social media trackers on this site.

Things that are not cookies

Your browser may store small amounts of data locally for ordinary functional reasons, such as remembering that you dismissed a message. Nothing of that kind is used to track you, and none of it leaves your device.

Third-party services

Some pages load fonts or an embedded service — for example a booking form — from another provider. Those providers see your IP address as a technical necessity of serving the request. Where an embedded service would set its own cookies, we tell you on that page before you use it.

If this changes

If we ever introduce a cookie that needs consent, we will ask you first, properly, with a real choice to decline — and this page will be updated before it goes live.
